The United Group’s MIS Department has an impressive staff of 9 IT professionals including a Corporate Director, five in-house computer programmers, a network administrator, a PC helpdesk professional and a computer operator specializing in reporting and IT administration. The software managed by the IT department is equally impressive. The in-house software includes but is not limited to the state of the art Diver Sales Analysis tool and our Advantage hand held software.



The Diver software is a powerful sales analysis system. It is a cross-functional analyticalDIVER reporting tool, putting answers in the hands of the people who need it the most to develop, sell, and grow our brands. Diver’s versatility allows users at all levels to access a sea of information while enabling any one user to view the data in the manner best suited to his or her specific needs. Account specific data, by channel and ethnicity can also be exported for use in other applications including Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

• Set Depletion Targets and Accounts Sold Goals using Distribution Reports created for each sales representative.

The Pocket Advantage software system enables our salesforce to deliver the highest quality service through a state of the art order processing and inventory system via a hand held computer. We have invested in excess of $1,000,000 in the past 36 months towards implementation of the system. The software brings state of the art technology to our 140 salespeople in the field. It creates a level of efficiency between our salespeople and customer service department that delivers goods to our retailers and their consumers on time.
Additionally, the Advantage hand held software contains survey capabilities both On and Off Premise; ie) survey wine lists which, identifies a salesperson’s strengths and weaknesses regarding placement and distribution opportunities in restaurants, for example he/she is great in casual dining, but needs improvement on white cloth restaurant menus. Automated Off-Premise surveys tabulate account specific display and shelf presence.
Both UBI and Hannah & Dunn use Diver to manage and evaluate business, while Hannah & Dunn sales reps use both laptops while in the field and hand helds (on premise only).


ULL is able to offer their supplier’s volume discounts on many of the office services necessary in today’s business environment. These products include but are not limited to cell phones, pagers, business forms and letterhead. In addition, for those suppliers who work out of home there are supplier offices in our Braintree headquarters that have access to such amenities as a copying and fax machine.
