

United
Liquors, Ltd. invested $5.5 Million Dollars implementing an innovative
sophisticated and automated warehouse management system. The system
creates efficiencies that result in retailer satisfaction and
brand building with customers.
Delivering
satisfaction through innovation begins with the ability to load
and deliver 70,000 cases a day to our customers in the Massachusettes
market. This has been made possible through the investment in
such state of the art elements as Sayceo software, radio frequency
controlled equipment and the Conveyco automated system resulting
in inventory control and maximum efficiencies in loading and timely
delivery.
The warehouse in our Braintree headquarters is 460,000 sq ft with
64 loading doors. This type of investment creates efficiencies
in accepting deliveries from our supplier vendors and the delivery
of ULL brands to retail. We have 100 delivery units; the oldest
vehicle in our fleet is 2000 and the newest vehicles are 2004.
The fleet consists of box trucks and trailers, operated by 85
CDL licensed drivers. The average tenure of our drivers is 14
years.
The
ULL distribution department handles 7,000 SKU’s with a wide
range of brands in all categories Beer, Wine and Spirits. This
translates to a warehouse capacity of 800,000 cases but we did
not stop there, we have a 10,000 sq ft tempature controlled unit
for our fine wine inventory.
For
over 50 years, United Liquors has had a solid working relationship
with the Teamsters. The result is a workforce with high morale
and a ‘can do attitude’ regarding the warehousing
and distribution segment of our organization.
